Chad grew up in Coppell and has lived here most of his life. He attended Coppell schools, graduating in 2009 from Coppell High School, where his ability as a baseball player earned him a selection in the professional draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers and a scholarship to play baseball at the University of Oklahoma. He chose Oklahoma, where he studied business. During a prolonged struggle with a severe back injury, Chad felt led to quit baseball and return to Coppell to train for pastoral ministry. While attending the University of North Texas for the next three years, he served as a student ministry volunteer, intern, and director. He graduated from UNT with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BBA) in May of 2013 and married his Coppell High School sweetheart, Erin, in July of that same year.
In the fall of 2013 he began his graduate studies at Dallas Theological Seminary, where he will soon earn his Masters in Theology (ThM). At the same time as entering seminary, he began serving GracePoint as a Pastoral Apprentice and the Young Adults Pastor. After several years of serving in those roles, he became the Associate Teaching Pastor. Then on September 17, 2017 following a nine month search, Chad was voted in as the new Lead Pastor of GracePoint Church.
His greatest passion is to know Jesus and make him known. He loves spending time with family and friends, enjoying a bold cup of coffee, and reading a good book.
