GracePoint Church has a long history of worship and service to the community. Shortly after the city of Coppell was founded in 1890, this church was founded in 1896 with 19 charter members as Coppell Baptist Church. The first building was erected and dedicated in 1901. The church remained in this first building until 1948, when a new building was erected in then downtown Coppell, at the intersection of what is now Bethel and Coppell Roads. In the early 1970s, the name was established as First Baptist Coppell and the church moved to its current location on Denton Tap Road. Through the years devoted, caring people have always stood ready to minister to the community in the name of Jesus Christ. That spirit of love, compassion and care that characterizes Jesus' ministry on the earth is alive, well and flourishing in GracePoint today.
9:30 AM Sunday Mornings Followed by Life Groups & Age Graded Ministries
Each and every event at GracePoint goes toward fulfilling our goal of sharing the Gospel with all men and helping them to become fully devoted followers of Christ. We have activities for the whole family.
Giving is an act of obedience, giving God back a little of what He has so graciously given us. Every week we have an offering in our service, but many find online giving a better option for their family. Click the links below to setup and monitor your online giving.
If you have an need, prayer request, question about the Bible or the church, we are here to walk alongside and help. If you need a church to call home, we hope you will come and visit us on Sunday morning or drop by the Ark or Church Office during the week. We truly strive to be the church where shame meets grace.
As you have heard stories on the news, seen the footage and we are even under a tornado watch today here in the DFW... we are reminded of our need for God and others. Often during these times we ask "how can I help?".
There are three responses we should have as the body of Christ:
1) Pray. Pray for those who have lost loved ones. Pray for those who are injured. Pray for the churches in these areas as they share the love of Christ with those who are hurting.
2) Give. You will see in the details below about a couple of different ways you can give.
3) Go. All three locations (West, Granbury and Moore) have opportunities for you to go and serve.
Give. We are sending a semi-truck filled with water to Moore on Friday, May 24. The truck and driver have been donated, but we need to help buy the water. The cost is $144 a pallet and the truck will fit 22 pallets. That means we need to raise $3168. You can give toward this by going to gracepointcoppell.org/giving and choose the designation "Missions Fund - Peace".
We are also sending a trailer of supplies with our PEACE Relief Team. You can bring to the church during office hours (Monday - Thursday 9-5 & Friday 9-noon) or Sunday morning the following items (All need to be new and unopened):
- Toothpaste - Toothbrushes - Bath Towels - Bedding - Snack Items (individually packaged and do not require cooking) - Bottled Water - Sunscreen - Gatorade
Go. Currently the area is closed to untrained volunteer teams as the professionals make assessments. They are thinking it will be open in a day or two to volunteer teams. We have already registered a team and will be on the front lines. If you are wanting to go, Charley is leading this team that will be gone for 3 days within the next week and a half. To be on the team you need to be able to leave with a days notice. There is no cost for food or lodging while on site. There is a small cost for transportation and food during travel. If you want to be on this team, please reply to this email and let me know. You must be 14 or older to participate. Kids ages 14-17 must be accompanied by an adult.
Go. If you would like to go out into the community to work on clean-up efforts, please arrive at StoneWater Church (911 E Hwy 377, Granbury, TX 76048) at 7:15am (or 1:30pm on Sundays) to go through a short orientation, to be divided into different work teams and then head out into the community. This will be available until June 4. Please bring gloves, hand tools or trailers if you have them. Power tools will be supplied by Samaritan's Purse. If you do not have tools, come and we will have you taken care of. We will also divide into ministry and prayer teams that will accompany the clean-up teams. They will go through the same orientation. You must be 14 or older to participate. Kids ages 14-17 must be accompanied by an adult. You can register and get more information at https://stonewaterchurch.wufoo.com/forms/serve-q7x2w5/#public.
Go. June 15-22 the Texas Baptist are hosting a week of rebuilding in West, TX called "Loving West". You can go for a day, a few days or for the whole week. There is a $15 cost and a $10/day suggested donation for food. Lodging is available if you would like to stay down there for multiple days. You can find more information and registration at https://secure.acceptiva.com/?cst=7c184a. Kids are not recommended for this trip, but if you would like to take kids, a parent must stay with them at all times and they would not be allowed on work sites.
Though we are not traveling to Granbury or West as a team from the church, if you are interested in going or planning to go, please let me know. There may be others who would like to go and would love to connect with you to serve together. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
